The book forms an 8-pointed star when it's spread out. 8 on its side is the symbol for infinity, and tombs and baptisteries have always had 8 sides in many different cultures. 8 is a significant number for many reasons, but most often 8 somehow signifies eternity. For my project, I dissected a medical dictionary (ha! get it?!) into an 8-pointed star to portray a modern means of reaching eternity.
